In October 2019, REMONDIS Glass Recycling Polska Sp. z o.o., based approximately 100km from Posen in the town of Piła, have put their second recycling facility in Poland into operation.
Christoph Bildstein, Managing Director of REMONDIS Recycling GmbH & Co. KG, explains: "With the construction and operation of the recycling plant in Gliwice, we are in line with the positive development of measures in the Polish circular economy – especially in the densely populated South. We are pleased to now be able to supply glass producers in this region with high-quality recycling cullet and thus contribute to reduced CO2 emissions."
140,000 tonnes of hollow glass a year from municipal collection are now processed in 3-shift operation on the 30,000m² large property in Gliwice. All input as well as output material storages are covered.
REMONDIS invested around € 16m in the new location. It is the most modern glass recycling plant in the world.
